Cheek Fillers in Winnipeg, MB

Cheek Filler is a treatment performed with precise dermal filler injections to create higher, more prominent cheekbones. Dermal fillers work by adding volume, structure, and support to enhance your cheekbones. Your face will look slimmer, lifted, more contoured, and refreshed within a matter of minutes.

As we age the bone and fat volume in our cheeks begins to decrease. This results in loss of structure over time. Some people also naturally have lower, flatter cheekbones. With fillers like Juvéderm®, Restylane®, and Teosyal®, advanced cosmetic injectors at The First Glance can put the volume back where it belongs to elevate and enhance your cheekbones.

Whether you would like top model cheekbones, or a very subtle lift to make your face appear slimmer, youthful, and more contoured, your treatment will be personalized according to your desired aesthetic results.

Your personalized jawline contouring will be performed by an expert nurse injector or a board certified plastic surgeon in a private treatment room at the award winning First Glance Aesthetic Clinic & Surgery Centre located in Winnipeg, MB.

How Does Cheek Filler Work And What Is Hyaluronic Acid?

There are a variety of dermal fillers that can be used to create higher and more prominent cheekbones. The majority of Cheek Fillers are made with Hyaluronic Acid which is a very safe and naturally occurring substance in the skin. Hyaluronic Acid helps the skin retain moisture, delivers nutrients, creates softness, and adds volume. When Hyaluronic Acid is used to lift the cheekbones, it can be extremely effective at creating structure and support to soften, contour, and rejuvenate other areas of your face. The cheekbones generally need more of a lift than the lower face. Therefore, a Hyaluronic Acid filler with a high G prime (a thicker filler) is needed to add structure and support.  The choice of dermal filler for your treatment will be based on your facial anatomy, the length of time the filler lasts, cost per syringe, and the desired look you’d like to achieve.

When Will I See Results After My Cheek Filler Treatment?

You will see results immediately, however, there will be some swelling after your treatment so you won’t see your best results until 7 to 14 days later.

How Long Will My Results Last?

Hyaluronic Acid Fillers dissolve naturally over time. Most of the Restylane®, Juvéderm®, and Teosyal® products tend to last around 1 to 2 years when injected into the cheekbones. This can vary depending on your anatomy and how quickly filler dissolves in your body. Touch-up treatments are required to maintain your results.

What Is The Expected Recovery Time?

Swelling and bruising after Cheek Filler treatments is common. To minimize bruising we suggest that you avoiding alcohol and blood thinning products, such as Aspirin, Ibuprofen, ginseng, fish oils, and Vitamin E for 1 to 2 weeks before your Cheek Filler treatment. You’ll also want to avoid working out for at least 24 hours because raising your heart rate can exacerbate bruising.

Swelling is at its peak 1 to 2 days after your treatment. The swelling is much better after 3 to 5 days.

What Can I Expect During My Cheek Filler Treatment?

On the day of your treatment, your expert injector will meet you in a private treatment room to discuss your aesthetic goals in detail. From there your injector will assess your natural bone structure to determine what type of filler is best to achieve your desired aesthetic results. Before your treatment begins, your injector will cleanse the area to be treated to remove any makeup or oil from the surface of your skin (very important). Once your skin is clean your injector will use a tiny needle or a cannula (a cannula is a tiny tube that’s inserted at the injection site of your cheekbone to distribute the dermal filler). Some injectors prefer to use a cannula for Cheek Fillers because it may reduce the risk of bruising. Every injector at The First Glance is trained in both methods and will determine whether a needle or cannula is best for your treatment.

Your injector will go slowly, adding your filler in stages until they reach the desired result. Your injector may also mold the filler with their fingers after it’s injected to shape it into place before it fully sets. Your treatment will take about 15 to 30 minutes.
