There are a variety of dermal fillers that can be used to create higher and more prominent cheekbones. The majority of Cheekbone Fillers are made with Hyaluronic Acid, which is a very safe and naturally occurring substance in the skin. Hyaluronic Acid helps the skin retain moisture, delivers nutrients, creates softness, and adds volume.

Hyaluronic Acid works to lift the cheekbones. It can be extremely effective at building structure and support to define the contour of your face. The cheekbones need more volume and lift compared to other areas of the face; thus a thicker Hyaluronic Acid filler (high G prime) is typically used. Your expert injector will identify the right filler for your treatment at the time of your consultation. Determining factors include your facial anatomy, the areas treated, the length of time the filler lasts, the cost per syringe, and your desired aesthetic results.

Filler begins, your skin will be cleansed at the injection sites to remove any makeup or oil on the surface of your skin (very important). Now that your skin is clean, your injector is ready to introduce the Cheek Filler with a cannula or an ultra-fine needle (which may feel like a light pinch). Your injector will go slowly, adding your filler in stages until they reach your desired aesthetic results. Your injector may also mold the filler with their fingers after it’s injected to shape it into place before it fully sets. It’s important to ice the area after your treatment to reduce swelling and bruising. Your treatment will take about 20 to 30 minutes.

You will see results immediately. There will be some swelling after your treatment so you won’t see your best results until 7 to 14 days later.

Swelling and bruising after Cheek Filler treatments is common. Swelling is at its peak 1 to 2 days after your treatment. Light swelling will continue to improve after 7 to 14 days.

Hyaluronic Acid Fillers dissolve naturally and gradually over time. Most of the Restylane®, Juvéderm®, and Teosyal® products last around 1 to 2 years when injected into the cheekbones. This can vary depending on your anatomy and how quickly filler metabolizes in your body. Touch-up treatments are required to maintain results.

Patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding cannot have Cheek Filler treatments.

To minimize bruising, please avoid alcohol for at least 48 hours before your injections. To improve the longevity of your treatment, we recommend that you refrain from gym workouts for 48 hours and avoid excessive heat (saunas, hot yoga) for 2 weeks after your treatment. For optimal results, we recommend that you follow these guidelines so you can reduce the risk of bruising.

Botox and other injectable treatments such as Under Eye Filler, Temple Fillers, Lip Fillers are often performed at the same time as Cheek Filler.
