I’m Considering Fat Transfer For My Breast Augmentation, What Do I Need To Know About This Procedure?
Fat Transfer is a great choice for Breast Augmentation if you are interested in an all natural way of increasing the size of your breasts.
Dr. Avi Islur will collect fat cells via Liposuction from specific areas of your body, your fat will be purified, then your own natural fat will be transferred to your breasts to create more volume. With Breast Augmentation by Fat Transfer you’re getting two cosmetic procedures done in one surgery. You’re getting Breast Augmentation with the added benefit of Body Contouring because fat is collected via Liposuction from other areas of your body.
The size of your breasts can be increased anywhere from 1 to 1.5 cup sizes.
Where Will My Fat Be Collected From?
Good quality fat for Fat Transfer tends to come from the Abdomen and Flanks (aka Love Handles). These are Dr. Avi Islur’s preferred areas for fat collection. The secondary sites for Fat Transfer can be your Inner Thighs, Arms, and/or Bra roll.
Is Fat Transfer Going To Change The Overall Shape Of My Breasts?
No, Fat Transfer is not designed to change the actual shape of your breasts. Fat transfer is performed to add more volume to your breasts. The actual shape of your breasts won’t change.
If you are interested in changing the overall shape while adding volume to your breasts, breast augmentation with implants will be your best option.
Can My Breast Size Change Overtime With Fat Transfer?
Yes, with Fat Transfer the size of your breasts can change over time. The reason for this is because fat cells maintain the same characteristics of where they come from. So if your fat is collected from your abdomen, then transferred to your breasts — those fat cells will naturally respond to weight gain and weight loss the same way as if they were still located on your abdomen. This means that the size of your breasts can change over time (they can become larger or smaller) if your weight fluctuates.
For example: Let’s say you tend to gain weight on your thighs before any other area of your body and that’s where your fat cells are collected from. This means that your new breasts will be created with the same fat cells as your thighs. So if you gain weight after surgery, your breasts will become bigger (just like your thighs would) because your breasts now have the same fat cells as your thighs.
Can I Get A Tummy Tuck Done At The Same Time As My Breast Augmentation by Fat Transfer?
Yes, if you are interested in getting a Tummy Tuck, it’s an ideal time to get it done at the same time as your Fat Transfer. Tummy Tuck and Fat Transfer are a powerful combination because Liposuction is performed to collect your fat from other areas of your body. If you get a Tummy Tuck done at the same time as your Fat Transfer Dr. Avi Islur can remove a lot more fat from your lower abdominal area because he is going to surgically remove all of your excess skin to create a tighter, slim, toned new contour.
If you decide not get a Tummy Tuck done at the same time as your Fat Transfer Dr. Avi Islur cannot be as aggressive with fat removal. Think of Liposuction as a deflating ballon. If the surgeon removes too much fat (and you’re not having a Tummy Tuck) you can be left with loose hanging skin and contour abnormalities.
If you plan on getting a Tummy Tuck done at the same time as your Fat Transfer, Dr. Avi Islur can: 1) Remove a lot more fat from your lower abdomen, 2) Your excess skin and stretch marks can be surgically removed, 3) Your abdominal muscles can be tightened, 4) Deliver a dramatic transformation to your midsection.
Fat Transfer to the breast can also be combined with other cosmetic procedures such as Breast Lift. You may also elect to remove breast implants and have fat transfer performed.
