This is a 47 year old female who came to see me about her abdomen. She was concerned because she always looked “3 months pregnant”. This was despite being fit and of normal weight. I performed a full rectus plication of her abdominal muscles and a tummy tuck. Bottom Part of abdomen below the umbilicus (belly button) the muscles (rectus abdominus) have been sutured together. Upper part had not yet been repaired and demonstrates the bulge created by having separated muscles. Muscle repair is common in about 40% of tummy tucks.
