You have probably noticed that your nipples look better when they are cold or stimulated because the puffiness decreases as they tighten up. The opposite is true when the areola — the dark skin around your nipple — is warm. It gets soft, thin, puffy and pushes forward.
There are ways to improve the appearance of oversized areolas, however there’s a few things that need to be taken into consideration with regards to ‘puffy’ nipples.
Do I Have Gynecomastia?
Gynecomastia is overdevelopment of the male breast. Glandular tissue of the breast swells and forms an enlarged breast. Gynecomastia can affect one or both of the breasts, sometimes unevenly. Despite there being no known cause for male breast development, gynecomastia has been associated with a number of medical conditions and medications.
Gynocomastia can come in a variety of forms, some guys have excess fat and some guys have pure glandular tissue, and some guys have a combination of both.
If you have tissue beneath your areola, then we can likely improve the appearance of your puffy nipple. Liposuction can be performed to remove the excess fat to improve the overall contour of your chest, however, the firm tissue beneath the areola won’t come out with liposuction, it needs excision.
It’s important to understand that when the underlying tissue is removed, your areola might not flatten out or tighten up perfectly and there’s a chance that it won’t be as tight or as smooth as it is right now.
If you don’t have any extra fat on your chest and it’s just a matter of extra glandular tissue — a firm egg shaped growth under your nipple — it’s definitely not going to get better with just loosing weight. Liposuction isn’t going to work either because liposuction only removes fat. Liposuction does not remove the glandular tissue, the extra glandular tissue will have to be surgically excised.
